An Athlete Centered Training environment develops the athlete's wisdom. Therefore, the athlete is the driver of his or her own learning experience.

Athlete Centered Coaching is a coaching philosophy underpinned by a set of values and coaching behaviors, where the primary goal of the coach is to help their athletes take responsibility of their sporting behaviors that creates their results. This style of coaching focuses on helping athletes and players to achieve the goals that they have set and help them reach their highest potential. Athlete-centered coaching creates a positive and safe learning environment. The coach views each of his or her athletes as individuals and caters to their individual needs.

The Long-Term Athlete Development (LTAD) model is a framework that strategizes training, competition, and recovery depending on the participants stage in their athletic development. The LTAD model was created to help athletes understand their full potential and improve the quality of sport programs.
The LTAD model is a participant-centred approach to the delivery of. sport. It seeks to maximise everyone's participation and potential in sport, not just that of performance athletes.

The American Development Model (ADM) applies long-term athletic development principles to guide parents and coaches as their players develop and mature.
The model promotes motor and skill development as well as health and fitness, while preparing athletes for competition at all levels. The ADM is based on a progression from sport fundamentals to learning to train to training to compete.
